What does GDPR mean?

DSGVO stands for DatenSchutzGrundVerordnung, a directive of the European Union that is legally binding even without national implementation. The aim of the GDPR is to protect natural persons when processing personal data. The protection applies to every EU citizen, regardless of their place of residence or the location of the processing company.

 

Who is Help People Leave Ukraine e.V.?

The purpose of the association is to organise the departure and initial accommodation of needy residents of Ukraine, the collection of donations to support the departure, the provision of food and other and other relief goods.

The purpose of the statutes of the organisation is realised in particular through the provision of a platform for the bundling of corresponding offers and services throughout Europe.

What data does Help People Leave Ukraine e.V. have about me?

As far as possible, all personal data is anonymised or pseudonymised.

Which data is transmitted to the operator of the website can be seen from the respective online input forms when an account is created.

The following data is collected in detail:

For the operation of the homepage

– Computer and connection information (e.g. browser version or IP address)

For mediation between refugees and volunteers

– General personal data, e.g. name, date of birth and age, gender, marital status, address, e-mail address, telephone number

– Contact information of volunteers and refugees (e.g. name or email)

– Communication data of the initial contact between volunteers and refugees

– Data necessary for verification with Veriff, e.g., image files of ID documents. The data necessary for verification is stored on Veriff’s servers and is subject to Veriff’s terms and conditions (https://www.veriff.com).

– Profile pictures of volunteers and refugees, if the person has chosen to add them to their profile.

For marketing, information and correspondence in line with the purpose of Help People Leave Ukraine e.V.

– Contact information of volunteers and refugees (e.g. name or email and phone number).

In individual cases, further or other data may also be collected. If a complete and individual list of data is desired, an individual request is necessary.

Consent, use and storage

As a matter of principle, we only process personal data of our users insofar as this is necessary for the provision of a functional website as well as our contents and services.

Operation of the homepage

By visiting our homepage, you automatically consent to the processing of your data for the delivery of the homepage (Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO).

The storage of certain information for 30 days serves to secure the homepage against hacker attacks, which is a legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO).

You will also be asked to accept cookies, you can choose which ones you consent to.

For mediation between refugees and volunteers

By creating an account, filling in the necessary fields and accepting the Terms and Conditions, you consent to the processing of your data.

Your data will be used in accordance with the statutes of Help People Leave Ukraine e.V.

As a user, you have the option of cancelling your registration at any time. You can have the data stored about you changed at any time.

Data protection

The data is protected by controlling physical access to the data and technical security of the data. To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS. The data is stored within the European Union.

Does Help People Leave Ukraine e.V. pass on my data?

The surname and first name entered in the form or a volunteer name derived from the entered email address and the profile picture provided will be publicly displayed on the site with the relevant offer of help.

Other information, such as a user’s contact details, will not be displayed on the website and will only be shared with individual consent.

The contact details and profile information of refugee account users will be shared with those volunteers that the refugee account user contacts through the website.

Data on identity documents required for verifications by Veriff is collected by Veriff and stored on Veriff’s servers. Help People Leave Ukraine e.V. has access to this data. This data is not shared with third parties by Help People Leave Ukraine e.V.. No copies of this data will be made either. Access is used for the purpose of controlling the verification process only.

Help People Leave Ukraine e.V. reserves the right to share such a data if required by national or international law.  

Will Help People Leave Ukraine e.V. delete my data again?

Data is only stored for the time necessary to achieve the purpose of this website. Then the data will be deleted. When deleting a an account or upon request atinfo@helppeopleleaveukraine.org, by the use the data will be deleted as soon as possible.

What rights do I have?

– Information about personal data concerning you (Art. 15 DSGVO);

– Correction of inaccurate personal data concerning you (Art. 16 DSGVO);

– Deletion of personal data (Art. 17 DSGVO);

– Restriction of the processing of personal data (Art. 18 GDPR);
